TERRA's Client Became an Employee of the Year!

Terra Consultancy supported Anga Kuru right from her interview at Deafroots to the ‘Staff of the Year award’ she received on Thursday 7th of March 2013 at the AGM of Deafroots Association.
Anga is a great role model for the Deaf community.  She applied for the Outreach Worker position at Deafroots Association.  With a BSL interpreter from Terra Consultancy, she went for her first interview, which she successfully passed. She is employed on a number of tasks from administration, research, organising events, using social media and even some graphic design work.
Deafroots is funded by the National Lottery and this year it will continue to support Deaf people who wish to develop their skills for future employment opportunities.  They run a number of projects and you can get more information from their websitehttp://www.deafroots.org.uk/about-us/ or facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/deafroots
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Thursday 7th March 2013 and was attended by many Deaf people and volunteers. The meeting included a look at the finances of the previous 12 months and what the aims were for the coming year. It is hoped that more courses can be run by the centre to promote Deaf confidence in applying and successfully gaining jobs. Awards and certificates were given out to people who had finished courses or completed training days. These people were congratulated on their achievements and wished the best of luck in going out to find jobs with the help of the Deafroots team.
Below are some pictures of the AGM and a video interview with award winner, Anga Kuru. You can also see the video what Anga said about support she received from Terra.
Well done Anga and we wish you all the best in future.
We also hope this will inspire many more Deaf to join in your ranks.
